Company Profile

The Run-Up Story

BöSha Company was founded in Lippstadt (North Rhine Westphalia) by Brigitte Shahrokhshahi-Böning and Davoud Shahrokhshahi in 1979. Because of rapid expansion the company moved to the neighbouring town of Rüthen (Hochsauerland).

During the early years the family company specialized in developing, manufacturing and selling of electrical equipment for environments which harbour the risk of explosions. The main focus was and is on lighting engineering. In September 1983, the first explosionproof luminaire was certified. This was the foundation for decades of cooperating with the German mining industry. Since the end of 2005, BöSha is the sole supplier of the standard lighting equipment for the German coal mining industry. In the beginning of 2006, the product portfolio was expanded by luminaires for the industry.

Already since 2003, BöSha has been dealing with the LED technology: they developed a type of explosionproof light fitting that incorporated this modern technology. Due to this multiannual experience, BöSha started gaining a foothold in the field of LED street lighting in 2008. The first project-related applications were based on retrofitting luminaires that existed in the market – from conventional lamp technology to LED. Soon BöSha included in its manufacturing programme own complete luminaires, so that nowadays the customers can choose between various styles – from classic mushroom or cylinder luminaires to box-type functional luminaires.

All products originate from the company’s own development department, production at 97% taking place in the Hochsauerland. The family business disposes of a very profound production structure, having its own metal working and assembly department, plastic injection moulding and tool engineering. This structure offers BöSha the possibility to react to costumer’s individual requirements promptly and flexibly.

In the year 1998, the firm was certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001. During the thirty year company history the team, originally consisting of 4 employees, grew to 45 regular members of staff and diverse temporary workers today. In addition, approximately 80 wageworkers are doing assembly work.
