The LED spotlights  of the BS 6267** series are used for the illumination of underground mines in hazardous areas of the category M2 as well as of industrial areas of the category 2G (zone 1) or category 2D (zone 21).

The spotlight consists of a flameproof enclosure with a bonded pane and it contains one MCOB power LED. The Ex I spotlight is produced with a plastic coated light alloy enclosure. Power supply is achieved via cables or intrinsically safe plug connectors from affiliated power supply units.

In mines the flameproof spotlight is suited for mobile and stationary operating equipment  like storage-battery and diesel locomotives, locomotives in general, working platforms, dinting and loading machines, selective and full cut heading machines. In aboveground industrial areas it is used as mobile and stationary lighting device, e. g. for working platforms, vessels (inspection glass Illumination) etc.

The spotlight consists of a metal enclosure with safety glass pane and it contains 1 LED.

Depending on type, the spotlight is operated with an intrinsically safe 12 V/1.5 A power supply unit, with an integrated power supply unit (100 - 255 V AC/DC) or with 24 - 48 V AC/DC.

For Ex I applications the light alloy enclosure is plastic powder coated and additionally equipped with a tight protective cage of steel.
